This stunning CD desk calendar showcases taonga tuku iho (ancestral Maori treasures) from Te Papa's collections. The taonga in this calendar include a putatara or trumpet, an ornamental comb made from bone and paua, an eel trap woven from vines and harakeke (New Zealand flax), a selection of fishing tools made from paua shell, wood and bone and examples of the extraordinary carving that Maori are known for.
Showcases major New Zealand art works and beautiful items from the museum's beloved collections. This year, the theme is 'celebrations', and as ever, the artists featured read as a real who's who of NZ art and design - McCahon, Angus, Kileen, Noble...the list goes on and on!
