Author description

Rowena Loverance is a specialist in Byzantine sculpture and author of Byzantium, an illustrated guide to the Byzantine collections of the British Museum. An enthusiast for ecumenical and interfaith dialogue, she is a former co-President of Churches Together in England, and has travelled widely in Europe and the Near East. She is Head of Outreach at the British Museum and a Visiting Research Fellow at King's College London.
